Band Bio
The Overtones are best described as a true classic party band, comprised of top notch musicians and entertainers. The Overtones' shows offer a variety of musical genres from a wide range of eras with a emphasis on classic rock / R&B.
From Jimi Hendrix, The Stones and Janis Joplin to The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and Adele to an acoustic mini-set or a brief Blues Bros. Tribute, this six piece band comes ready to PARTY! With a strong and steady rhythm section, masterful guitar work, growling sax and harmonica riffs, pumping organ swells and five unique vocalists, there isn't much that this group doesn't cover. The Overtones take a personal approach to their performances and create an interactive energy between themselves and their audience.
The band formed as a 4-piece in early 2000 with no rehearsals or even set lists, the band performed all songs by request, which helped build the wide variety in their repertoire. After a series of personnel changes, the band evolved into the current 6-piece line-up and played a variety of shows around stark county, eventually becoming the house band for the Rock N Resort Music Festival ('04-'10). During this tenure, The Overtones shared the spotlight with national acts Grand Funk Railroad, WAR, Joan Jett, Eddie Money, Todd Rundgren, Blues Traveler, CCR, BOC, Kansas, Cheap Trick, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, and many more!
